Neng is a great listener and her motto is to treat everyone the
way she would like to be treated. Neng is a kind soul though
and that way of thinking has made a huge impact on how she
interacts with customers. In fact, when a customer came in
wanting Kyra Sedgewick’s glasses, Neng listened and set out to find
them. Mission accomplished! She loved the thrill of the hunt. Neng speaks both English and Hmong fluently and is married with one
daughter. She comes from a family of 10 which might account
for her being such a good listener. If she could design her own
glasses, she’d make manufacturers understand that the fit needs to
be tweaked to better fit Asians. Neng is also working on becoming a certified optician. She’d take her Bebe plastic glasses if she were stranded on a desert island because they are cute and comfortable and she’d take her husband and daughter, too. Her style of glasses
are bolder, better and funky.
Who has the coolest eyeglasses in 2010?
I think Johnny Depp has pretty cool glasses. Definitely different, but he wears them very well!
If you could change any celebrity's eyeglasses in 2010, who would that be?
I was Googling celebrities and their glasses… and Lisa Loeb's name came up! I know the cat-eye style is her signature look, but I find that it appeals to a very small audience. The majority of the time, I'm reminded of that look by patients saying, "That's too 'catty' of a look for me." or "The cat-eye look just isn't for me."
Of all the many brands we carry at Stellar Vision, what is your personal favorite?
My ALL time favorite line is the BEBE. I love the BEBE line because it's fun, trendy, and it fits me! Their styles aren't all the same; they have a different look for every type of woman.
What eyewear trends do you see for this spring and summer?
I see trends like what Johnny Depp is wearing becoming more popular, especially with the younger population. The bolder but classy look is going over well with the newer generation. The lense itself too, is going to be larger, to carry that "retro" look.
