Jean has been wearing corrective eyewear since she was three
so she knows what she’s talking about from the customers’ point of view. She is also very comfortable wearing newer, trendy styles, and that helps others realize they can do that, too, and feel really good about being fashionable. She takes a close second in the number
of eyeglasses she owns with 13 clear pairs (currently, but she
changes often) and several pairs of sunglasses, including BeBe, BCBG, and Oakley‘s – all with polaroid lenses, of course. Jean
doesn’t feel like her job is a job at all. She thinks of it more as an adventure when she assists a customer and then gets to see
them put on their final selection, knowing that they look great
and feel good about themselves. Jean has been in the eyecare
field for 30 years and is an American Board Certified Optician.
She also owns the business, so she gets to call the
be chocolate. Not the color silly, chocolate like yummy, melt in your mouth chocolate. But since
they’d probably melt on her face, she knows that’s not realistic. If Jean were trapped on a desert
island, she’d have to take those Oakleys with the MP3 player and her family. Jean’s 13 year old
son Mitchell and 16 year old daughter, Paige keep her on her toes and stylishly clothed at all
times. Jeans eyeglasses perfectly express who she is… a fun, sassy, businessperson.
Who has the coolest eyeglasses in 2010?
Kirsten Vangsness, currently starring in Criminal Minds on CBS as Technical Analyst Penelope Garcia. Kirsten wears frames that are colorful and have attitude!
If you could change any celebrity's eyeglasses in 2010, who would that be?
I would like to see celebrities both on news networks and in entertainment stop wearing reading-only glasses. They are constantly taking them on and off; why not choose a pair of great looking glasses with progressive lenses, and leave them on?
Of all the many brands we carry at Stellar Vision, what is your personal favorite?
Menizzi, an Italian design featuring multiple color combinations and textures. Menizzi is a distinctive design unlike many other brands that are common in vision centers. In fact, they are exclusive to Stellar Vision in the area.
What eyewear trends do you see for this spring and summer?
High performing optical lenses that feature digital surfacing and coating techniques both in streetwear and sunwear. I am a huge fan and advocate of polarized sunlenses with a backside anti-reflective coat. Driving performance is unbeatable!
